All this sounds horrible to most younger people but it is worth it. The people are so nice and welcoming and you immediately feel like a you're in a big warming family. Everybody is always happy and the feeling is just incredible.

One of the best experiences of my life. Worth it for everyone, even you weak ass wimps who can't leave the house without your phones... I would know because I used to be one of them, Wollangarra changed that for the better

The feeling when sitting around a fire in the middle of nowhere and just to chat and eat is so great and I can only recommend it.

I didn't decide to go here and yes at first it didn't sound very nice. No phones? No WI-FI? Who are those people? After a exhausting trip to get there and the journey over the flying fox, which is the only way to get into camp, I was there.

I went on this camp being quite open minded. The building was alright considering they are terribly remote. To be honest, the whole place is a bit mad. The people there have no connection with the outisde world, so they all become a bit strange. The hike i would say is relatively hard for people with little experience. The bags weigh far too much! When packing for the hike i had perfectly fine items for the hike. The leaders almost instantly denied me of bringing these items and wanted me to take their smelly, sweaty clothes. Obviously i had to since they were not budging, but i am not very impressed with the trip at all. Quite a dissappointment...

I did stage one as a beginner and the hike was exhausting on one side and incredibly fun on the other side. You have to carry all your stuff, including tent, sleeping bag, clothes and food. The pack weighs a lot but you do get used to it.

It was relieving to just be outside in the bush and just not having to care about your Instagram-Feed or your Facebook-Messages.

Wollangarra is without a doubt my favorite place in the world, which has provided me with the most rewarding experiences that I could come across in my lifetime. After attending a stage one with my high school, I have since been back for 5 stage IIs, and have attended countless work parties. Each time, I return to the outside world with many new friends, and a fresh outlook on life, and how we as humans can alter how we live to have a more symbiotic relationship with the environment. Wollangarra is all about helping the mountains, and the effects which the mountains can have on young people's minds is outstanding. I urge you to attend a stage 1/ work party, and see for your self the wonders of the place. The more people who can share the amazing experiences in the beautiful Licola area the better! The leaders are just wonderful, a mixture of fun, caring (and a little bit wacky!) amazing people who spend a year of their lives, spreading joy through outdoor education programs. The work they do is amazing. The homestead itself is stunning, situated in a cozy flat surrounded by the mountains.

I want to apply to every person who might be in my position a week ago and is maybe a bit terrified by looking at this camp. It might not sound to great but it is definitely worth it. When you are at Woll you only learn to really appreciate things like a normal toilet or a nice bed.
